Dead - GDTRFB - Winterland - 1974

They were at the top of their game. Keith and Donna Jean were great additions.

This guy is an American musical prodigy. He channels everyone. Willie Nelson, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Doc Watson, Bob Dylan....you name it, he plays it.

Dead - Jahrhundert Halle (Live/Entire Show) - 4/26/72

One of Pigpen's last fronts. Bill K. Phil Lesh. and Keith Godchaux were taking the back sound in a different direction. Bob and Jerry followed.

If I had to choose, I think this is the Live Dead at their best. Lots of energy, not musically perfect, but Bill K was spot on, Lesh. and Godchaux were brilliant in the background sound, leaving Bob and Jerry to take the audience on an audio-sonic journey.

Pigpen was awesome on the cuts he played, But it seemed to be a moment of transition for the Band. IMHO
